At Gaia Holistic Birthing and Family Sanctuary, we honour the sacred unfolding of life through heart-led, evidence-based, women-centred, family-inclusive, holistic, and compassionate care.
Our model of care is guided by professional standards and delivered with cultural sensitivity, and respect. We offer safe, integrated maternity and family care through a collaborative team of qualified midwives, general practitioners, and specialist obstetricians. In partnership with our referral hospital, we ensure continuity of care across the pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey, supporting informed decision-making and clinical safety at every step.
We believe that birth is more than a physical event . It is a spiritual and emotional transformation.
Our sanctuary provides a supportive environment that nurtures each woman’s individual needs and preferences, encouraging emotional wellbeing, self-agency, and community connection.
It is also a place where love leads, intuition is trusted, community uplifts, and every feeling is sacred. Here, we remember the ancient wisdom of feminine power, the healing gifts of nature, and the strength of sisterhood.

Our Mission
- Our mission is to create accessible (cost-effective), evidence-based, women-centred and high-quality birthing and family centres that enable safe, peaceful and soulful births onto Earth.
- We are working towards securing funding in 2025 to open our first centre on the Gold Coast in 2028.
- We strive to empower 360 women to birth safely and peacefully in our sanctuary in the first year of opening, increasing to 720 women per year beyond that. (=30/60 per month)
- We strive to support and empower one hundred families per week in our family sanctuary in the first year of opening, increasing steadily beyond that.
- Our aim is to provide exceptional service with feedback continuously high, and any improvement suggestions considered swiftly.

- Seasonal events, rituals, and education aligned with the rhythms of life
Our Story
Gaia Holistic Birthing & Family Sanctuary was born from two women, two visions, and one shared dream to re-weave the village for mothers, families, and future generations.
For Franziska, the seed was planted on a cold winter night in August 2019. Restless and unable to sleep, she found herself reflecting on the tender, disorienting years after the birth of her first daughter. What should have been the “happiest time of her life” had instead unfolded as a deep initiation into loneliness, matrescence, strain, and the ache of living without a village. In between newborn meltdowns and her own tears, she began seeking out holistic practitioners, new friendships, and spiritual answers to the meaning of life itself. And then, that night, a vision downloaded: a holistic birthing village. A place where women could gather even before birth, where motherhood was honoured as sacred, and where support flowed as naturally as breath.
Meanwhile, Tara’s own calling was stirring. After years of supporting women and families through trauma, loss, and transformation, as well as walking her own journey of fertility struggles, heartbreak, and surrender she too had received a vision. In 2021, during one of her deepest moments of breakdown and breakthrough, an image of a sanctuary appeared so vividly it felt like a divine download. It was a place of healing for wombs, mothers, and families. A place where cycles of intergenerational trauma could be gently broken and replaced with connection, ceremony, and care.
When Franziska and Tara finally met, it was as though each woman was looking into the mirror of her own dream. Their visions were not just similar, but intertwined, like two seedlings waiting to be planted in the same garden.
Since then, the vision of Gaia has grown steadily with the support of aligned souls, synchronicities, and the quiet but undeniable guidance of something greater.
Gaia is more than creating a centre. It is a remembrance of trust in the mother, her baby, and the miracle of life itself.
